As with any attempt to heal from a drug, it is important to take the necessary steps when curing marijuana addiction in a person. If the process is rushed, the effects may be temporary and the person could easily find him or herself craving and using marijuana once again.
Failing to cure a marijuana addiction can result in the person not being able to function properly in society and not being able to fully care for the personal health of them or their families. The process of curing marijuana is not difficult, although it can be time consuming. This article is not to be used as a replacement for professional medical assistance in the curing of marijuana addiction, but it can be used as a guide as to what to expect. The first step of curing marijuana addiction is to identify that there is a problem with the use of marijuana. All of the treatments in the world will not help if there is no identification as to why marijuana use is dangerous and destructive to the person’s life. The person will also need to realize that the occasional use of marijuana is not acceptable and that he or she must separate completely and permanently from the use of marijuana. This is often the most difficult step for a marijuana user to take, especially with all of the pro-marijuana information flooding the internet and the other media channels. This can also be difficult if the person has other friends who use marijuana but are not ready to quit marijuana. Often people need a life changing event in order to decide to make a change on their own. This can include the conception or birth of a child, marriage or the loss of a job due to marijuana use. The next step can be much easier for the marijuana use to take once the first step in curing marijuana addiction is done. This step involves cleansing the system of marijuana. This process is known as detoxification and with marijuana it is generally considered painless. While some detoxification process can be very painful and leave the person feeling as though he or she is going to die, such as heroine, marijuana is actually considered easier than quitting cigarettes. Most people will admit to feeling slightly depressed and maybe a little uncomfortable or dizzy, but most have no symptoms of detoxification from marijuana use and addiction. |
